As a community of Christ followers, we are called to serve one another by using our God-given time and talents. There are a variety of ways you can get involved with the Fresno Rescue Mission to help serve our community.

Volunteers are always needed to serve in various roles and capabilities here at the Fresno Rescue Mission. Please, note that ALL COURT-ORDERED volunteer opportunities are on hold until further notice.
The following descriptions have immediate openings available:
General Service – Get your feet wet by volunteering in a capacity designed for you! No commitment required.
Serve-a- Meal Evening—Daily!
Serve a meal to our homeless neighbors that are dining with us in the evening at our downtown campus. This is a very rewarding opportunity to be able to directly serve the community!
Evening meals are served to our guests at 5:00 p.m.
Volunteers should arrive by 4:45 for instruction and preparation.

Come, volunteer and celebrate as we invite our homeless neighbors in for an Easter meal! Volunteers arrive at 9:30 AM on the day of the event to prepare for our guests. Service teams:
• Decorating the chapel tables with Easter décor.
• Assemble plastic ware and napkins in a decorative bundle.
• Don an apron and pre-cut pies and cakes to give to our guests.
• Server meals and drinks to our seated guests during the event.
• Kid friendly– ages 8 and up, may volunteer to work alongside their parent or guardian.
The event typically concludes before 1:30 pm.
October 24 – Annual Fall Celebration Banquet – sign up to help with the Silent Auction in advance of the event, or volunteer for the day of the event. There’s always plenty to do!
November 21 – Thanksgiving Luncheon (similar opportunities as described above)
December 22 – Christmas Luncheon (similar opportunities as described above)
Hair Stylist, Barber, Cosmetologist, Esthetician.

Share your talent with us!
Weekend Fun Nights -(Friday and Saturday Evenings, quarterly) Bring your group to fellowship once a year, semi-annually, or once a month. You choose the activity and plan the FUN. (Rescue the Children)
Meet weekly with our disciples and help them overcome learning barriers. (Rescue the Children & the Academy)
Tutoring can be scheduled for two hours anytime from Mon-Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. We work with your schedule!
* Some positions may require a Pastor’s recommendation letter, a staff interview and up to a 6 month commitment.
Classroom Facilitator (Rescue the Children & the Academy)
If you are gifted in a particular subject or skill and have a desire to train others, become an Instructor! Life Skills, Biblical Foundations, and Recovery. Available: Mornings and Evenings.
(*Pastor Recommendation letter required for teaching Biblical Foundations class, staff interview required for all teaching positions, Commitment: 3 months)
Work reception area and assist the staff with clerical duties and projects on a regular basis. Must pass a face-to-face interview process, due to the confidential nature of various ministry elements. (FRM Downtown and Rescue the Children)
Chapel Service (Rescue the children only) ** Taking sign-ups now!
We are in search of Pastors & churches to lead Chapel Services on Thursday evenings. Specific requirements: Chaplain or Pastor preferred. If a women’s bible study group would like to lead a study for a certain period of time that would be considered as well.
Thursday evening Chapel Service from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Mentor (The Academy and Rescue the Children.)
We are always in need of mentors.
Become a friend to one of our disciples and meet weekly to fellowship and share your lives with one another as you grow together in Christ.
Mentoring is a Christ-Centered personal relationship ministry (18-month commitment)
*Pastor recommendation letter and staff interview required; must be connected to a home church and attend regularly.
Help in the library by organizing books and help our women and children with inquiries. ($30 Live Scan background check required at volunteers expense including an interview with our staff.)
(Rescue the Children) Wed, Friday, Saturday 6p.m.-8p.m.
Help watch the children and plan fun activities.
Monday, Tuesdays 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Thursdays—6:30-8:00 p.m.
($30 Live Scan background check required at volunteers expense including an interview with our staff.)

New Volunteer Orientation And Tour Schedules
We invite all volunteers to come into their new role with an understanding about the Fresno Rescue Mission ministries, including our vision, purpose, processes, programs, policies, and expectations. To assist you, ORIENTATION IS REQUIRED, but tours are optional. We do recommend taking a tour if you would like to serve in relational ministries.
Volunteer Orientation – RSVP to attend.
Plan to join us either the 1st or 3rd Friday of the month, from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., and we’ll take you through the process, get you signed up, and answer any questions you might have.
Take A Tour
You are invited and encouraged to come to the Fresno Rescue Mission for a tour of our facilities. It’s the best way to understand what we do and to see, firsthand, how God uses friends like you to build His Kingdom. This is also a great way to connect if you are interested in volunteering!

Evening Chapel Service
Chapel services are conducted by volunteer groups. To be involved, contact Chaplain Bob Henry at extension 206. Chapel Services are open to the public every evening at 7:30 PM.
Saturday Prayer Gathering, Sunday Worship & Special Events
Each week we offer special worship services, and we host special events throughout the year. This is our opportunity to meet and greet new guests!

Hire Program Graduates
A great way to support the work of the Fresno Rescue Mission is to hire our program graduates. These men and women have completed our extensive, long-term Life Recovery Programs and are in need of a second chance. They have completed training through the Mission, and are qualified for a variety of positions in the workplace.
